District Lead Volunteers (DLVs)

Zara Seymour
A bit about me — I’ve been involved in Scouting for 17 years, moving up from Beavers at 3rd Portchester through to being our County Youth Lead. I’m excited to support our units, leaders, and young people as we continue to improve our programs across the district. Scouting has given me many amazing opportunities, and I wish to give the same to our Young People.

Angela Knight
I started Scouting in 1989 in Shedfield and over the decades have supported most sections as a leader, predominantly with cubs and explorers.
Scouting has taken me on adventures to Switzerland, South Africa, and Canada, plus I attended World Scout Jamborees in 2019 and 2023; it has also challenged me and taken me outside my comfort zone, but along the journey, I have made lifelong friends and memories.

As one of your two Denewulf Youth Leads, I will be drawing on my own experience of youth-led Scouting as a King’s Scout, Hampshire Explorer Ambassador and former Young Leader to drive opportunities for young people across the district, supporting them (and their leaders) to involve young people in decision-making; encouraging the take-up of Top Awards and YouShape challenges.

Alfie Sillence
I’m one of your new District Youth Leads for Denewulf, we will be trying to not only represent young people in scouting but try make scouting as fun as possible with your support and help while also trying to earn badges and awards along the way. I’ve previously been a young leader and work as a watch leader, sailing tall ships in the Solent. I love to learn, teach new skills and to push myself out of my comfort zone.

14-24 Team Lead – Laura Gavin
I’m super excited to be your 14-24 Team Lead in Denewulf! I’ve been in scouting since I was 6, and hold roles at a unit, district and county level. As 14-24 Lead, I’m really looking forward to getting to know the Explorers and Networkers in Denewulf; helping them to achieve their goals and enjoy scouting to the fullest!

Programme Team Lead – Jamie Cooper
I’m excited to get some brilliant district-wide events off the ground over the next year – bringing together leaders, volunteers, and young people for big adventures and new experiences. There’ll be lots of opportunities for everyone to get involved in making these events happen, so if you’ve got ideas or want to help, I’d love to hear from you.
