Opportunities for Explorers

Below is a list of events and opportunities available to Explorers beyond the weekly programme; some of these are for groups, some for individuals. If you have any questions about any of these, please get in touch with the Denewulf 14-24 Lead, Laura.

Hampshire Opportunities

These are the opportunities offered to all Explorers in Hampshire; they are all different, and some might be more for you than others. Many of them can contribute to your Top Awards!


Kudu 2025, 15th-16th November 

Kudu is a great opportunity for explorers to test their navigation and teamwork skills in a county-wide competition. Teams of Explorers will compete at either Bronze, Silver or Gold levels to hike around Farnham and complete challenges to earn points.

Gold DofE/KSA Open Expedition 2026

Are you looking to complete your Gold DofE or King’s Scout Award? This open expedition run by Hampshire is a great opportunity to tick off the expedition section of these awards.

Young Leader Rally 2026, 16th-18th January

Young Leader Rally is an exciting opportunity for Young Leaders across Hampshire to get together and improve their skills, make new connections and learn from each other. Young Leaders will participate in a range of activities and discussions, using their knowledge and experiences to help each other and develop new and exciting ways to engage our young people.

Youth Council March 2026

A weekend camp for Explorers across the county to come together and share their ideas and opinions to make scouting in Hampshire youth-shaped and ensure your voices are heard. 

International Opportunities

Both abroad and closer to home, these Jamborees all require you to apply as part of a group, so please explore the list with other Explorers and your leaders!

Danish National Jamboree 2026, 18th-26th July 

The Danish Spejderne have opened bookings for the 2026 Jamboree. The second biggest scouting event in the world, it’s an amazing opportunity for young people to travel, make new friends and explore scouting on an international level.

Scoutmoor 2026, 16th-22nd August

Devon Scouts are back with their biggest camp of the year! Scoutmoor is a jamboree open to Cubs and up to give young people and volunteers from across the world the opportunity to come together at a festival of scouting and enjoy a range of activities from climbing to escape rooms and more!

CAMJAM 2027,  31st July-7th August 

The Cambridgeshire Scouts International Jamboree (better known as CAMJAM) is a week-long jamboree, with opportunities for young people to learn new skills, make new friends and have fun!
