Remembrance Day Parade 2025

Date: 9th November 2025 Location: 74 Western Rd, Fareham PO16 0NS to Holy Trinity Church, 132 West St, Fareham PO16 0EL

Dress:

  • All personnel are to wear full smart uniform, with a Poppy – decorations are to be worn as applicable. Wear something warm underneath your uniform.
  • Please remind parents that all young people should eat breakfast before attending the parade, to help prevent fainting.
  • See timings below, please ensure you and your section arrive in plenty of time to form up and be ready to march off.
  • We will need one Explorer to lead with the district flag.

Timings:

  • 9.45am: Roads will be closed. Please advise parents to use public car parks, but not at the rear of Holy Trinity church, which will be out of use.
  • 9:45am: Forever Remembered Ceremony at the War Memorial, Holy Trinity Church. The names of those who have died as a serving member in a British Armed Forces conflict from the Fareham area will be read out.
  • 10.20am: The Parade will assemble and form outside the Duke of Connaught’s Own Club in Western Road, Fareham, under the direction of the Parade Marshall of HMS Collingwood.
  • 10.40am: The Parade will leave from the Duke of Connaught’s Own Club in Western Road and assemble at the War Memorial.
  • 11.00am: Two-Minute Silence will be observed, and the Ceremony of Laying Wreaths will take place. A special service will be held at Holy Trinity Church.
  • 11.15am: Parade dispersal (approximately).

Form-up Positions:

  • Parade will assemble in column with the District Flag at the front, followed by groups in the following order:
    1st Bishops Waltham, 1st Catisfield, 1st Droxford, 1st Swanmore, 1st Wickham, 2nd Portchester,
    3rd Portchester, 1st Fareham, 2nd Fareham, 1st Shedfield, 10th Fareham, 15th Fareham, 17th Fareham.
  • We know that some groups do not attend as they have their own local ceremonies; please feel free to send pictures of these events to us afterwards.
  • Actual position of the head of parade will be managed by the Parade Marshall of HMS Collingwood on the day.
