St George’s Day Parade 2026

Date: 26th Apr 2026 Author: Jason Nash

It was great to see so many young people and adults at St George’s Day Parade. Congratulations to Eliza, winner of the Alf Breeze Memorial Award, for all your hard work throughout your time as a Beaver. Also, congratulations to Adrian, who has given up so many hours of his time for young people at 1st Bishop’s Waltham and across the District. The three District Youth Representatives carrying our flags were exceptional after their recent election. It was great to be joined by the Mayor of Fareham and the Deputy Mayor of Winchester, too.

Thank you to the Fareham Scout Band, who brought their fabulous marching tunes, and English Heritage for allowing us to use the grounds of this historic palace. Most of all, thank you to the volunteers who made this possible with all their time in the background! A full photo gallery can be found here.

Meanwhile, two Denewulf Scouts had their Day of Celebration and Achievement at Windsor Castle in the Quadrangle with The Scouts to mark their earning of the King’s Scout Award, the highest award in Scouting. These were Zara Skipwith (DLV) and Jason Nash (DYL), hence their absence from our own parade. A massive congratulations to them; we can’t wait to see which Denewulf Scout attends next!

In attendance were Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, Scouting Ambassador Tim Peake, Chief Volunteer Carl Hankinson and UK Youth Lead Ayesha Karim, along with many other award holders and recipients. There is a gallery of photos from the event here.
